Theyve been pushing flames and carrying embers in the hills where theyre lighting new fires. The problem is made worse because of extremely low humidity that is drying out the grass and brush in the area. Crews have made the most progress against the fire thats closest to the Magic Mountain amusement park. Theyre starting to get some containment, but fire Officials Say it will take at least next thursday to get at 100 contained. 5,000 homes are in the path of that fire right now. This fire started yesterday around this time and is burning near the mansions in bel air. A neighborhood that has not seen a major fire since 1961 one 500 homes burned. This time, four homes have been destroyed. 700 homes and apartment buildings and a school in West Los Angeles have been evacuated. Officials cannot say how many people have been affected.
