Right-handed reliever Keynan Middleton, who pitched well over 12 games late in the 2023 season with the Yankees, agreed to a one-year deal with the Cardinals on Thursday night, sources told MLB.com. The deal which the club has not confirmed is pending a physical.

Barring any injuries or unforeseen circumstances, the regulars in the St. Louis Cardinals' starting lineup and the five-man rotation seem pretty clear. The depth pieces that round out this year's team, particularly the bench and the bullpen, remain to be determined.
“I think there’s lots of things that we can take away from last year, and I think we all have to do a little self reflection on what that looks like,” Mozeliak said.
