The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has said that the arrest and detention of an activist and businessman, Comrade Bonny Okonkwo, is legal even though it has held the man for 18 days without trial. Okonkwo was arrested on January 3, 2024, and has been detained since then.

The Anambra State Command of the Nigeria Police Force has announced the arrest of a major arms dealer in Onitsha with his alleged accomplices. The police said the dealers were dealing on illegal and prohibited firearms in the state. A statement on Saturday by the Command's spokesman, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said that a total of 23 Automatic Pump Action Guns and 625 live cartridges were recovered from the suspects.
