Shabnam, awaiting death sentence for killing seven members of her family, has been shifted to the Bareilly jail from the Rampur prison, after her photos with some fellow inmates surfaced on social media platforms recently.

Rampur (Uttar Pradesh): Taj, the 12-year-old son of Shabnam Ali, a death row convict lodged in Rampur jail, has met his mother.
Taj, accompanied by his guardian, Usman Saifi, met his mother for about 45 minutes on Sunday.
Usman, who has been taking care of Taj, told reporters that Shabnam said to her son that she is not guilty of the crime she has been convicted of.
Shabnam, a death row convict in the Amroha murder case, has filed a fresh mercy petition before UP Governor Anandiben Patel. Her mercy petition came while preparations are underway at the Mathura Jail to execute her. The Amroha woman was found guilty of murdering seven members of her family.

Rampur (Uttar Pradesh) [India], February 19 (ANI): Amroha death row inmate, Shabnam, who was convicted for killing seven members of her family in April 2008, on Friday filed another mercy petition before Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel.
Convict Shabnam has also approached UP Governor earlier for pardon, but Patel had rejected her plea.
Article 161 of the Constitution of India empowers the Governors of States to grant pardon to the convict who has committed an offence against state law.
According to Rampur Jail Superintendent, lawyers of the convict met her on Thursday.
