A Sessions court of Delhi on Saturday upheld a magistrate court order setting aside a Lookout Order (LOC) issued against former Amnesty Chief Aakar Patel.
A magisterial court had asked the probe agency to withdraw the lookout circular issued against Patel and apologise to him in connection with a case relating to the alleged violation of the FCRA.
The agency filed the plea before the Rouse Avenue court's registry, a counsel for the accused said. Patel, on his part, filed a contempt petition before the court against the investigating officer of the case of alleged violation of the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act
Despite a Delhi court ruling in his favour and even asking the Central Bureau of Investigation to apologise for issuing a lookout notice in his name to stop him from travelling, author and former head of Amnesty International India Aakar Patel was once again stopped from leaving the country on Thursday night
