Sanjay Leela Bhansali directorial Gangubai Kathiawadi is based on one of the chapters of Hussain Zaidi’s book Mafia Queens of Mumbai. Alia Bhatt will portray the role of Gangubai Kathiawadi, who ran a brothel in the Kamathipura area of Mumbai and later, several criminals became her customers. She was fearless and also dedicated her life for the betterment of orphans and sex-workers. The statue of Gangubai is still there in the Kamathipura area. The makers of the film have released the teaser of the film a few days back. However, the Alia Bhatt starrer will hit the theatres on July 30, 2021.
