Editor s note: Seth Chitwood is The Standard-Times new special projects reporter, and he s trying to learn his way around the SouthCoast.
This is part two of a two-part adventure with Pamela Jayne Morgan. Morgan is a Fall River native and grew up near the former Dubuque Elementary School. Two weeks ago, I explored some of the theaters in the SouthCoast where Morgan performed in some starring roles.
This week, Morgan showed me around her old neighborhood and highlighted some of her favorite spots she visited while growing up in the area.
Locust Street (Fall River)
We started our adventure where it all began for Morgan – the street behind her old house in Fall River. “It s a wonderful city, I had a wonderful childhood right up to my early 20s, when I did move out of there,” Morgan said.

This truck belonged to Silas Hall s Transfer Line just after World War I. It was used for hauling freight from the NP (Northern Pacific Railroad) depot to stores around town as well as for other kinds of moving. The picture was taken in front of the railroad freight office. Before the truck, Silas Hal used teams of horses and wagons which he kept at 415 Main (now Washington Street).
