Halston series will premiere on Friday without a stamp of approval from the late fashion designer s family.
A statement from the Halston Archives released on May 10 expressed the family s disapproval, calling the series an inaccurate, fictionalized account of Roy Halston Frowick s life. Neither the Frowick family nor representatives of the designer s archives were consulted about the project, per the statement. The Halston Archives remains the only definitive and comprehensive source on the man and his legacy as the personally appointed custodian of his private papers and effects, they wrote.

T&C, Lesley Frowick, Halston s niece and CEO and founder of his archive further explained: The producers of this miniseries on our beloved uncle Halston did not contact or secure the authorization from the Halston Archives or family. Thus it is unauthorized.
