Reporter for days [ no audio ] the School Superintendent of Montgomery County, joshua starr, is leaving, pushed out in some ways after losing the confidence of about half of the school board. The news was announced at a Board Meeting just a few minutes ago. There is a News Conference that is going on right to see how they play this, but four members of the board have been saying for quite a little while that starr had failed them. There had been questions about the way hes handled a couple of allegations of employees sexually assaulting children. There have been issues about his on againoff again support for starting school later and allowing children to sleep in. And Board Members have complained in particular that he has no clear vision on how to close the achievement gap between white and African American children.
