Shaina West Des Moines fire investigators say theyll need to dip deep beneath the remains of the house before declaring the cause of the fire. Eric a winterset man is dead after a fiery twovehicle crash in Madison County. It happened in the 1900 block of summit avenue in Madison County just before midnight saturday night. When deputies arrived they say they found a jeep fully engulfed in flames. The driver of the vehicle has been identified as 48yearold john eller of winterset. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the other vehicle a semitractor trailer was not injured. Officials say ellers vehicle rearended the semi then struck an in ground electric box , catching fire.
