Im a 20year educator in this district, and i still dont understand all the ins and outs of education law and the process and i was talking about a principle today and she was explaining the difference between an io4 and the other document. In my heart there is a lot of issues and its like going to the doctor and getting a diagnosis that youre uncomfortable with. I want to urge our legal team, communications team, and those that work with family liaisons, i dont know know of ways that were educating people on their rights. Parents can request assessments and its confusing how do we do that. I dont think its Common Knowledge that a parent can say theyre concerned about their comments and they want them assessed. If your child is assessed and you want them to go through the process, im not aware of any protocol for educating families on their rights. Maybe we have that, but its not visible on the website. Number of homes, fire. A stressful few days for residents impacted by the fire. Most are back home but unfortunately some residents returning to find their homes damaged or destroyed by the seller and to fire. School will be starting later for many california le and High Schoolers in the coming years. Governor newsom signing a new law requiring public middle schools to not start before 8 00 in the morning and high schools not start before 8 30 a. M. That does not include zero periods. The governor said the science shows teenage students who start their day later increase academic performance, attendance and overall health. I think its good to start after that so they can focus well in the schools. I think its a really good change.
