I have no doubt that the crews will keep up with the light snow heading in this evening. Here is your time looip. During the day, cold and cloudy and dry through the afternoon. It is this evening when we start to see the first light snow arriving between 7 00 and 9 00. Just a few neighborhoods during that time. And then more widespread snow later in the evening and into early tomorrow morning. Overnight, expect accumulations of one to two inches. Maybe a couple of neighborhoods getting more than two but im not expecting more than that. Amounts of snow generally averaging around two inches, a little bit less to the north and the south. Theres also a chance of snow for parts of the area on saturday. Well talk about that storm, too a little bit later. Crews say theyre ready to role when the first flakes start falling. They were pretreating the roads early this afternoon. Thats where nbc Randy Gyllenhaal is live. This is the most snow of the season for most of the road crews. Reporter in the past hour or so, penn dot called in the reinforcement. Contractors will be helping out, making a total of 300 trucks salting the roads into the overnight hours. Its not going to be the biggest storm of the system, but its a good reminder for folks at home to start the snow and ice checklist. Ahead of the first real taste of winter, penn dot crews spent the past 24 hours brining local roads.
