Charlotte s violence interrupters aim to counter violence, promote outreach

Last year, Charlotte and Mecklenburg County launched Alternatives to Violence, a program that works with community members to bring peace to areas prone to violence. The program uses "violence interrupters," trained members of the community who have experienced the criminal justice system firsthand, to make connections and address problems without involving the police. Its focus has been on the Beatties Ford Road corridor in west Charlotte.

Free Breakfast in Loveland to Address Domestic Violence

Alternatives to Violence (ATV) will be hosting its 5th Annual Purple Ribbon Breakfast Tuesday, April 26 at the Embassy Suites in Loveland. This free event, will help spread awareness with three key speakers including Loveland's Mayor, Jackie Marsh.
