New FCC rules create the tantalizing possibility for other companies to purchase a license that T-Mobile is leasing for 5G. As noted by AllNet, at least one company has done just that: SoniqWave.
T-Mobile offered the Christian College of Georgia $1 million to buy its 2.5GHz spectrum license, which the carrier has been leasng. The company also told the college it could not sell the license to anyone else, even if it could get a better price.
Verana s Amit Jain confirmed the company has applied for an experimental license for a test network in 27GHz spectrum. According to AllNet Insights & Analytics, Verizon is the primary owner of that spectrum.
