Christopher Finley was a “semi-frequent” customer at the bar, according to Mineshaft co-owner, Jeff Darling, who called the situation "very traumatic."
Romain Duranjarrod Smith, 26, was booked on suspicion of battery on a peace officer, battery causing injury, obstructing or resisting arrest and attempting to take a firearm from a peace officer, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
"Residents should know that if someone calls or texts them asking for payment or personal information, the caller is not from the Water Department," a department spokesperson said.
A Long Beach man was arrested in the city's South Wrigley neighborhood Friday night following a traffic stop in which police located a stolen firearm and drugs in the car he was driving, according to the Long Beach Police Department.
