A hat-trick from striker Zak Brown helped Town s U18s to progress to the quarter-finals of the CNet Training Suffolk Senior Cup with a 5-1 victory over Framlingham Town on Tuesday evening.
Town have named a very young U23s side featuring a number of trialists and former defender Chris Casement for this afternoon’s game against Coventry City at Playford Road (KO 1pm) with many of the regulars in the squad set to play for the first team at Crawley this evening in the Papa John’s Trophy.
Town boss Paul Lambert was proud of his young team’s performance despite the Blues having fallen to a 2-0 Papa John’s Trophy defeat to Crawley at the Broadfield Stadium.
Zak Brown netted two penalties after trialist Jack Hanson had opened the scoring as a young Town U23s side beat Felixstowe & Walton 3-0 at The Goldstar Ground in a pre-season friendly on Tuesday evening.
