The SBI chairman received a remuneration of Rs 36.99 lakh, while the MD and CEO of Bank of Baroda and Canara Bank got Rs 43.04 lakh Rs 39.76 lakh, respectively.

Allowing compromise settlement for accounts classified as fraud or wilful defaulters not only rewards unscrupulous borrowers but also sends a distressing message to honest borrowers who strive to meet their financial obligations, the unions said.
By allowing wilful defaulters and fraudsters to settle loans under compromise, the RBI is effectively condoning their actions, placing the burden of their misdeeds on the shoulders of ordinary citizens.
The RBI, in its 'Prudential Framework for Resolution of Stressed Assets' (June 7, 2019), made clear that the borrowers who committed frauds/ malfeasance/ wilful default will remain ineligible for restructuring.
