Taipei, Dec. 17 (CNA) Four more members of a Russian ballet company scheduled to perform in Taiwan over the next two weeks tested positive for COVID-19 Thursday, the Central Epidemic Command Center (CECC) said that day.
The 52-person company, which arrived in Taiwan on Nov. 29, was tested for COVID-19 at the request of the organizer udnFunLife on Monday - the day after completing their mandatory quarantine, and the results of four members came back positive Wednesday.
As a result, the CECC arranged another round of tests for the other 48 members of the group and the results came back on Thursday showing that another four individuals had contracted the coronavirus, according to the center.

Taipei, Dec. 16 (CNA) Representatives of foreign chambers in Taiwan on Wednesday praised the planned change in the numbering of Alien Resident Certificates (ARC) and Alien Permanent Resident Certificates (APRC), saying it will make their lives in Taiwan more convenient. The policy makes more people feel that Taiwan is their home, said AmCham Taipei President Leo Seewald at a promotional event held by the National Immigration Agency (NIA).

FSC says to lower gold card application thresholds

The Financial Supervisory Commission (FSC) yesterday said it would lower the application thresholds for employment gold cards, in a bid to attract foreign professionals with top financial certifications, senior-level executives at financial companies or those who have worked in financial technology or e-commerce.
The employment gold card is a four-in-one work permit, residence visa, Alien Resident Certificate and re-entry permit, applicable to foreign professionals in eight fields: science and technology, economics, education, culture, arts, sports, finance and architecture, according to the National Immigration Agency.
The FSC, which is responsible for setting the qualifications for foreign professionals with financial expertise, said it would relax the Requirements and Determination Principles for Foreign Special Professionals with Financial Expertise (外國特定專業人才具有金融�
