NPP Chair Locks Up School Block
The locked classrooms
There was drama at the Ampenkro/Asratoa primary School in the Bono Region recently when the Jaman South constituency First Vice Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr Henry Yaw Afful (Henforo), stormed the school premises and locked up the entire block, thereby denying students and teachers access to the classrooms.
The Chronicle gathered that the six unit classroom project, which falls under the One Million Dollar per Constituency policy, was awarded to Henforo’s construction firm, but the government has not yet paid him the money spent in executing the contract, even though the pupils and teachers have started using the classrooms. He, therefore, took the decision to sack the pupils from the classrooms and lock up the building.
Loyal NPP youth in the Jamin South constituency have blamed the MCE, Alhaji Abu, and the party hierarchy for the skirt and blouse voting in the just ended general election.
At a press conference, the leader of the youth, Maxwell Asa accused the executives and the MCE of sponsoring the NDC’s William Okofo Dartey to win the seat from their candidate.
“
From all indications, he was supporting and sponsoring the skirt and blouse campaign”, a statement by the youth read.
