The outgoing Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has dissolved the State Executive Council and deposed some paramount rulers in the state. SaharaReporters learnt that Governor Bello deposed the Ohimege Igu Koton Karfe, who was the chairman of the Lokoja/Kogi Local Government Area traditional council. He also deposed Sam Bola OJua – the Olumogo Of Ogorimago as well as Samuel Adayi Onimiisi, the Obobanyi of Emenyi. Bello disclosed this in an address shortly after a meeting with the members of the state executive committee.

The federal government office of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) has donated six blocks of classrooms with VIP toilets for Police Children School and Community Girls Secondary School in Koton-Karfe town of Kogi Local Government Area of Kogi State.
Speaking during the commissioning of the classrooms on Wednesday, the senior special assistant to the president on SDGs, Princess Adejoke Orelope Adefulire, represented by the director of procurement of the SDGs Abuja, Usman Ada Shuaibu, said the SDGs’ desire to construct classrooms for the two schools in Koton-Karfe was aimed at encouraging parents to enroll their wards in school.
