Zamfara State Commissioner for Hajji commission, Alhaji Sirajo Maikatako has resigned his appointment from the cabinet of Governor Bello Mohammed Matawalle.
This is following the reconciliation between former governor Abdul Aziz Yari and Senator Kabiru Marafa factions of APC in the State.
Maikatako, who is a die hard loyalist of Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa tendered his resignation letter on Thursday, saying he was joining forces with the united All Progressive Congress (APC) in the State ahead of 2023 general elections.
“I am to announcing my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led State Government and I am also relinquishing my position as the state commissioner of Hajji commission.
Maikatako announced his resignation when he addressed a group-APC facebookers in Gusau on Thursday.
“I wish to announce my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) led State Government.
“The decision is to show my commitments to support my political mentor Sen. Kabiru Marafa towards promoting peace and unity in our great party, the All Progressives Congress (APC).
“I want to call on the PDP led government in the state to avoid politics of bitterness and witchunting.
“What I expect from PDP and other political parties in the state is for them congratulate us as APC members on the recent reconciliation achieved by our great party, we should avoid a due or die politic,” he said.

Kaura-Namoda (Zamfara), Jan. 6, 2021 A group of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) supporters in Kungurki Ward in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara has defected to All Progressives Congress (APC).
The group announced its defection at a ceremony on Wednesday in Sabongarin Kaura in Kaura-Namoda.
Speaking on behalf of the group, Malam Bala Ayuba said that the former PDP members under three different groups decided to leave the party for APC.
“We decided to defect to APC because we are not satisfied with the current PDP leadership in the state.
“We have not recorded achievements for almost over a year of the PDP led government in the state.

Gusau, Dec. 25, 2020 The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Zamfara, has donated 250 bags of rice and 15 cows to the Christians Association of Nigeria (CAN), Igbo and Yoruba APC members, to celebrate Christmas.
Presenting the items to the beneficiaries in Gusau on Friday, APC Chairman, Alhaji Lawal Liman said the items were donated by the former governor and APC leader, Alhaji Abdul’aziz Yari.
Liman represented by the APC Secretary in the state, Alhaji Sani Musa, said the items comprised of 200 bags of rice and 10 cows for the CAN community in the state.
He said that 40 bags of rice and four cows were also donated to Igbo APC wing and Igbo community.
