The problem is there are too many empty classrooms. Enrollment is down. The district is losing money. A lot of parents in the south bay are worried about several Elementary Schools that could be shutting down soon because of a 12million budget deficit because of declining enrollment. The Oak Grove School district in south san jose will be closing several Elementary Schools and moving those students to other campuses. The goal is to save money as the district deals with a serious budget deficit. District leaders have identified eight Elementary Schools that may be shut down. I just got here. Officials are saying so far. Reporter this all happened at James Lick Middle School police are still here and there are Fire Departments and medical crews that have been in and out. We do not see was the mass casualty bus that was but in to evaluate students. School and fire officials have said 10 students became sick after ingesting something. What that is, is still unknown but they are checking for edible marijuana. The 10 students are in nonlife threatening condition although one student is considered critical but nonlife threatening. The others are less severe earlier we heard from the San Francisco Fire Department. At about 1 20 this afternoon the Fire Department received a 911 phone call from James Lick Middle School indicating they had students the possibly were under the effects of an adjusted substance. Our first initial dispatch units arrived on scene and determined they had three patients and that number throughout the last hour grew to eight total is a total of 10 victims.
The Fire Department initiated their protocol under the red alert, and that allows us the resources of additional ambulances and command staff to run this incident effectively. Thanks to the efforts of the San Francisco Unified School District staff, we were able to evaluate and contain this. Reporter the school is asking all parents to keep a close eye on their child for any symptoms like vomiting, severe headaches, and that kind of thing. If they do have them type of problems, then called 911 immediately. Today we learned the name of the 19yearold woman who was stabbed and left to die at a road outside of livermore yesterday. She was identified as lizette Andrea Cuesta. She had recently moved from san jose to tracy. I gave her a blanket because it was really freezing cold out there. Reporter she have been stabbed, tied up, and left for dead. Before she died, she managed to identify the couple who attacked her. Within 12 hours of fighting the victim, authorities arrested the couple. On her Facebook Page, she calls her fianci my king. There are they are both in custody for the murder of Lizette Andrea Cuesta. Reporter the investigation moved very quickly because of the victims last word, known as a dying declaration. But authorities are not ready to discuss why she was killed. We have a lot of things to fill in as far the motive is concerned. On the night of this incident, Lizette Andrea Cuesta got into the car with the suspects consensually because they knew each other. We are also now trying to put together what exactly happened in the moment that she got into the car to the moment that we ultimately found her at about 2 00 a. M. In the morning.
