“The past was erased, the erasure was forgotten, the lie became the truth.” 1984, George Orwell.
And then came Trump… or did he? Journalists all over the world hold their heads in despair, some even in shame. We are all tarred now with the ‘fake news’ brush, fingers point at traditional/mass media and the verdict is that we are all guilty. We’ve apparently eroded the confidence of our audiences by taking sides and peddling lies, and we have damaged democracy in the process.
The fact is, journalists are easy scapegoats in societies enamoured of their new social media friends, who aren’t quite ready to accept their part in propagating what we have come to call ‘fake news’. Who hasn’t shared, liked and praised stories, memes or pictures without fact-checking them, just because they came from someone familiar, even if vaguely so?

Unquestioned by key officials in the United States and Europe, these sources of motivated information and disinformation constituted an essential part of a pro-India group’s campaign against Pakistan.
Much mainstream commentary on Pakistan remains largely unforgiving and negatively biased. Senior state dignitaries from the United States and Europe have resonated the views espoused by websites and newspapers recently called out for spreading disinformation.
On 9 December 2020, Brussels-based fake news watchdog EU DisinfoLab blew the lid off a systematic campaign stoking adverse views on Pakistan: a concerted program under the umbrella of the shadowy Delhi-based Srivastava Group. EU DisinfoLab dug up startling revelations of a massive cross-con

India’s fake news report on Pakistan ruins its global repute Syed Qamar Afzal Rizvi
A Brussels-based NGO committed to combating disinformation against the European Union has unearthed a 15-year-old operation run by an Indian entity that used about 750 fake media outlets to launch an anti-Pakistan campaign globally .The report released on last Wednesday said the disinformation network run by the Srivastava Group, a New Delhi-based organisation, was designed primarily to “discredit Pakistan internationally” and influence decision-making at the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) and the European Parliament. For years, Islamabad has accused New Delhi of orchestrating a hybrid warfare against Pakistan, which relies on a disinformation campaign to undermine Islamabad at international forums. The European revelations have endorsed Pakistan’s suspicion about India’s devilish designs.
Propaganda war

There’s no real blood on Pakistani streets but India is trying awfully hard to bleed Pakistan. There’s no real blood on Pakistani streets because India is using ‘weapons of mass distraction’ as opposed to ‘weapons of mass destruction’. There’s no real blood on Pakistani streets because India is using ‘persuasive technology’ as opposed to ‘destructive technology’. There’s no real blood on Pakistani streets but a more dangerous war is on. And, the new battlefield is the human mind. The war is on and the war goes on 24/7. Minds are at war and India’s battles against Pakistan have gone online.
