Points of view candidates have. Secretary clinton and i have different points of view. On a number of issues and i have tried my hardest to run an issue oriented campaign, explaining to the American People the differences that we have. Now, i may be Old Fashioned but thats kind of what i think democracy is supposed to be about. We will continue to monitor this q and a and bring you any updates. Meanwhile, the republican race for a nominee is over. At least according to donald trump. Riding high off of this new poll out of indiana showing a 15point lead. Trump told fox news ted cruz should just quit now. If you win indiana tuesday, is this race over . Yes, its over, i think its over now. But its over. Cruz cannot win. He has no highway, he has nothing. Hes way behind. Im leading by millions of votes and 400 or 500 delegates, he cant win. Hes holding back to back rallies in indiana. Lets get straight to Jessica Schneider in fort wayne where trump holds a rally about an hour from now. Fri
Theyre trying to keep a check and balance on democrats. A lot of conservatives are angry about what the new message is from the speaker, paul ryan. They voiced that to ryan and other leaders on a Conference Call yesterday. They argued that ryan is waiving the white flag of surrender making it a sure thing that Hillary Clinton will win and likely be able to stack the Supreme Court. The ultimate concern for social conservatives. So they arent happy. Theyre not the only ones. Take a look at what the republican nominee, donald trump, tweeted himself this morning. Heres what he said. Despite winning the second debate in a landslide, every poll, it is hard to do well when paul ryan and others give zero support. Now i should say for the record trump is alluding to online surveys that are not close to scientific. Putting that aside. What is important is he is laying the groundwork to blame paul ryan and other leaders if he loses. Team ryan calls that ridiculous as you can imagine that trump is
alexandra, you ve written an op ed about this. what are the conversations you re hearing ever since donald trump s comments? i can hear now. i didn t have sound before. hi. go ahead, alexandra. then we ll go over to nischelle. i was saying basically the idea that you get a pass on this conversation that it s locker room talk. this is a concept that we ve accepted, men can go into a room and drop their pants and act as though women aren t people. that is frustrating and bothering and especially the idea that every single time trump s been called to apologize, which what he s describing is sexual assault. you can t walk up and grab someone there. you can t sort of take these things even if you are a celebrity. his response has always been to write it off because in his world this is normal. and i m sort of wondering would we like to live in a world where this is normal? if not, how do we fix that? and to our knowledge, he has not apologized to odell or to the other woman that w
petra, let me ask you something, alexandra. what do we do with this? when you have a moment like this and you seem to have an action and a reaction to it, what do we do to make some value of this situation? well, i think it s good that we re talking about this and that it s up there. i think what nischelle said was huge. the fact that he didn t apologize to the person who was involved in this thing. i think that just shows to what extent he views women as somehow a different category than people. they are sort of an object. a sexy thing with legs, like a status symbol. everything donald trump says about women is like oh, a good woman is worth ten men and a bad woman s not as good as a man. just sort of this idea that there is this different category that women fall into than people. i think we have to keep pushing back and the guys in the locker room have to keep pushing back and everyone has to say, no, women are people. we re not this strange thing. we re not objects. you don t tal
encountered when they got zuker. off the bus. arianne zuker tweeted this. how we treat one another, behind closed doors, locker rooms or face to face should be done with kindness, dignity and respect. unfortunately there are too many people in power who abuse their position and disregard these simple principles and are rewarded for it. absolutely. powerful people, men usually, think that they can treat women like this and get away with it. and she got that directly. i mean, we heard that talk about her like ten seconds before they walked off the bus and then it was, hey, how are you? how are you doing? i really cringed when i saw that because she had absolutely no idea what she was walking into, and that hurt so much to see. but, yeah, we ve got to change this conversation, guys, and we ve got to start with it today. that s what you are both helping us do. alexandra, nischelle, thanks so much for being here. thanks for having us. the good stuff next.
