Happy Fourth of July, everyone! It’s time to get out your red, white and blue and enjoy some of the community events going on this weekend in central Oklahoma.
Start with the always-popular and free Red, White and Boom Independence Day Concert with the Oklahoma City Philharmonic at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Scissortail Park in downtown Oklahoma City.
The 60-minute concert offers a variety of music from OKCPHIL and is led by Maestro Alexander Mickelthwate. It will include patriotic favorites as well as others like “Climb Every Mountain,” “Chariots of Fire” and music from “Star Wars.” Bring lawn chairs. Food trucks will be available. The evening will not include fireworks this year. For information, go to okcphilharmonic.org.
