Track and Field: KVAC, MVC championships planned, to be held in multiple locations
Both the KVAC and MVC championship meets will be split up into multiple locations over multiple days.

The KVAC and MVC track and field championships are now planned and ready to take place from May 26 to May 29 in four locations and in six total parts.

Alexa Allen, class of 2022, was selected as Monmouth Academy’s April Student of the Month.
She is a member of the National Honor Society, Monmouth Academy Student Government, Future Business Leaders of America, and the varsity cross country, basketball, and track and field teams.
In presenting this award, Alyssa Littlefield, MA English teacher, remarked, “Alexa is clever, curious, and consistent. She is an exceptional student, always striving for 4.0s and tackling learning opportunities with gumption. Additionally, this incredible athlete isn’t afraid to take risks, a quality that is somewhat hard to come by,” according to a news release from the academy.

Well-rounded teams with strong potential in all events means Leavitt coach Will Parkin is confident his Hornets should have a successful season.
“The boys on this team are all fierce competitors,” Parkin said. “Whether they are talented newcomers or returning upperclassmen, everyone gives it their all and pushes those around them. Having so many inconsistencies in the past year in terms of athletics has pushed them even harder, and they’re all ready to perform their best this season.”
The Monmouth girls earn a narrow victory on the road.

WINTHROP Maddie Perkins paced the Ramblers with 18 points in Winthrop’s 55-37 victory over Boothbay on Thursday.
Sage Fortin chipped in with 15 points while Madison Forgue had 14 for the Ramblers, who trailed 2019 at halftime.
Glory Blethen had 15 points for the Seahawks while Kathryn Hibbard had 10 points.
Both teams are now 1-1 for the season.
MONMOUTH 63, HALL-DALE 62
Emma Johnson had 18 points as Monmouth rallied to edge Hall-Dale 63-62 in Farmingdale.
Holly Hunt helped the Mustangs’ cause with 17 points while Abby Flanagan had 15 points and Alexa Allen chipped in with 11 points. Monmouth trailed 49-41 entering the fourth quarter.
