Mother’s Day was celebrated on Sunday by organising special programmes for mothers. It may be mentioned here that Mother’s Day was conceptualised by an American social activist, Anna Jarvis, following her mother’s demise in 1905.
Dimapur, July 6 (EMN): St. Francis De Sales (SFS) Parish, Kohima, held its first Holy Communion ceremony on July 3 last at the parish main church with Rev. Fr. Mhabemo, parish priest, as the main celebrant. Coinciding with the feast of St. Thomas the Apostle, Fr. Mhabemo, during his homily, reminded the congregation that St. Thomas was the first Christian missionary who came to India to sow the seeds of Christ’s message of love, an update from SFS Parish, Kohima, stated on Tuesday. Fr. Mhabemo urged the congregation to live an exemplary life and respond to the call of God in whatever way possible. Altogether, 99 children responded to the call of Christ’s message and received their first Holy Communion which was instituted by Christ himself during the last supper. Extending greetings on the occasion during the Angami mass, Rev. Fr. Mathew Mhabemo, SFS parish priest, acknowledged fathers for being exceptional fathers to their family and lauded them for their continuous support and contributions to the church. Expressing happiness on the huge turnout of fathers, Fr.
