In the nuclear field, relations with foreign partners are quite fruitful and mutually beneficial, Deputy Head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry (Gosatomnadzor) Aleksandr Dokuchayev said at a press conference.
Aleksandr Dokuchayev said: “We will soon have to defend a national report on the Joint Convention on the Safety of Spent Fuel Management and on the Safety of Radioactive Waste Management. The review meeting will begin at International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) venues in two weeks, as from 27 June.”

MINSK, 23 February (BelTA) – The next mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will asses physical protection of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP), Aleksandr Dokuchayev, Deputy Head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry (Gosatomnadzor), said, BelTA learned from the ministry s website.
“In accordance with international recommendations, one of the most important ways to improve nuclear power and radiation safety infrastructure in newcomer countries is hosting various advisory missions of the IAEA. One of them is the International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) mission. Preparations are underway to host this mission in 2021,”Aleksandr Dokuchayev said. He specified that this mission is expected to come to Belarus in mid-summer.

MINSK, 27 January (BelTA) – Belarus intends to welcome an International Physical Protection Advisory Service (IPPAS) mission of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) in summer 2021, BelTA learned from Aleksandr Dokuchayev, Head of the Nuclear and Radiation Safety Department of the Belarusian Emergencies Ministry (Gosatomnadzor), on 27 January.
The official said that a mission to review the physical security of nuclear materials is supposed to take place this year. A preparatory stage of this mission will take place next week. The mission itself is scheduled for late June – early July 2021. “Apart from that, we expect to welcome a post-mission of the IAEA s Integrated Regulatory Review Service (IRRS),” Aleksandr Dokuchayev said.
