Full Album Link: Michigan Football vs Bowling Green 2023 (David Wilcomes) I pointed out yesterday that this weekend was probably the least enthusiastic I've felt for a football Saturday (at least in the Harbaugh era), but that this feeling was still, you know, fine. I tailgated for eight hours, drank some cheap champagne while watching some noon games on my phone, saw a bunch of friends. It was delightful. The game was frustrating but fine. I watched the end of the Rocky Mountain showdown on the floor of the Detroit airport at 1:30 in the morning. I think a lot of us are burned out from two straight years of non-meaningful non-conference schedules. But much like a pizza (and some other unnamed metaphors), even when it's not that good, it's still pretty good. If there's ever something we'll remember this game for, though, it was the stadium lights.

As of typing this there are 164!) I woke up Saturday morning at my dad's house at 4:30 feeling ready to go. I know some of you did, too, because when I did my weekly "I will be your photographer today" tweet, some of you were already liking it. I think I fell asleep at around 1 am the night before after shooting the hockey game. I don't remember. It was a 2.5 hours drive to Columbus and I wanted to beat the traffic. When I got to the stadium, the morning light was just touching the walls. The "parking lot opens at 8 so we must be there at 8" crowd was filtering into the city and the roads weren't even shut down yet. I waited outside Gate 22 for the media will call to open up because the email said
You know the old saying - if you have seven quarterbacks, you have none. But then again, who needs quarterbacks when you have a running back scoring five touchdowns in one game, a feat that hasn't happened since. A point I made on Twitter last week was that with a weak nonconference schedule you get a lot of guys who wouldn't normally play much getting the chance to fulfill a dream of playing for Michigan. Some will contribute later down the road but some won't and these three weeks will be memories they cherish forever. Now from a photography perspective, these last three weeks have been busy because every time we see a guy and say "I don't know who that is??" it means we don't have photos of them, and therefore, must take many photos of them. While our Flickr page has ~250 images of Blake Corum (and, well, this week added quite a few more.), this was the first time we've actually photographed Davis Warren in action (besides the Spring Game)
