The town of cobb southwest of lower lake and highway 29. The fire started at 1 30 this afternoon and blew up to 400 acres within a matter of hours. Right now firefighters have zero containment. It has spread so rapidly that all 1800 people in the town of cobb are being told they need to evacuate. Some people had only a few minutes to grab what they could and get out. If i could help anybody, i was trying to help our neighbors. And my animals. And my children. Thats and pictures, thats all i could think about. You did great. I wish i could help the people across the street from us more. She says her neighbors lost a bar that dates back to the 1800s. She says the flames got so close, she could feel the heat. Now the four injured firefighters were airlifted to uc davis just a few hours ago. The hospital there has a burn unit and cal fire says they were with the helicopter crew based out of lake county. People in social media say it is raining ash. This picture from twitter shows a heavy plume of thick black smoke. This picture was taken from middleton not far from cobb mountain. As you know, the fuel is thick, dry brush and we will have more on this fire coming up at 6 30. The butte fire in the sierras has charred nearly 65,000 acres and prompted a state of Emergency Declaration by the governor. Its prompted thousands of mandatory evacuations and its only 10 contained. Fires in gold country not far from jackson along highway 49 and you can see the areas where people are being told to leave. Who terrorized a neighborhood. You are our community, and our hearts break together for what has just happened. Reporter on friday, reports of shots fired near a planned Parenthood Office in the west side of Colorado Springs. When police arrived, they were met with a hail of gunfire. Law enforcement sources say the shooter, 57yearold robert lewis, armed with an ak47 type rifle, fired into a strip mall, wounding nine and killing three. A bullet shattered ozis windshield as he was caught in the cross fire. Broken glass caused superficial injuries. He described what could have been much worse. He was looking directly in my face and he was aiming for my head. I could see it in his eyes. After a fivehour standoff, the gunman holed up inside planned parenthood finally gave up and was taken into custody. The Colorado Springs mayor is among those who praised First Responders.
