APDâs âOperation Blue Santaâ kicks off second day

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - The second day of the Albany Police Departmentâs (APD) âOperation Blue Santaâ was a success.
The annual program began this year at the Walmart in East Albany on Tuesday.
APD officers accompanied 50 children throughout the store with shopping carts and gifted them with dozens of toys.
Police said the event is all about interacting with children.
They want children to know they are our future and law enforcement are their friends.

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) - A car that ended up through an Albany apartment and the driver running from the accident scene is under investigation, according to the Albany Police Department (APD).
It happened Sunday in the 2000 block of South Madison Street.
Police responded and saw a man carrying a small child out of the home, according to an APD incident report.
