Albany County has once again broken their record for the most new positive coronavirus cases in one day.
County Executive Dan McCoy said Thursday 269 positive cases were reported overnight.
There were 218 new cases announced at Wednesday s briefing.
Sadly, four people also died in Albany County on Wednesday.
The county has now lost 200 people to the virus since the pandemic began, including 52 people in the last month alone.
The county executive and Albany County Health Commissioner Dr. Elizabeth Whalen say these latest numbers are extremely alarming as we head into Christmas.
In addition to setting a new single-day record for cases, the county set a new record with more than 3,300 people under mandatory quarantine.

ALBANY Albany County set two more coronavirus records on Tuesday, reporting its highest daily caseload to date and the largest number of residents hospitalized in intensive care units.
