Writer is now an independent in Surrey
Comedy writer and performer Emma Kennedy has become a parish councillor.
The author, whose memoirs The Kennedys were made into a 2015 BBC comedy starring Katherine Parkinson and Dan Skinner, stood uncontested in Chobham, Surrey, where she lives.

(I have read the standing orders and understood them)
Kennedy has previously had a long association with the Liberal Democrats and in September 2019 put herself up to be the Parliamentary candidate for Surrey Heath, to stand against the sitting MP, Michael Gove.
