How democracy could become one of the pandemic’s lasting victims New research suggests the world has become increasingly autocratic since the start of the Covid-19 crisis.
Donald Trump and Melania meet Narendra Modi, India s prime minister, in February 2020. Last year, faced with the global spread of Covid-19, many political leaders enacted emergency powers to help tackle the pandemic. In some cases, however, these powers also expanded their personal reach while silencing their critics and disregarding human rights. In Hungary, a “coronavirus bill” was passed that gave the populist prime minister Viktor Orbán near-limitless power to rule by decree. In Kenya, authorities excessively enforced curfews, leading to widespread police brutality and reported deaths. In South Africa, protests erupted after soldiers entered a man’s home and beat him to death under suspicion that he purchased alcohol, which was illegal under lockdown rules.

As followers of Jesus, we come together in His name and worship Him because He alone is worthy of worship. We believe God has rescued us from darkness and brought us in to the marvelous light of His love. He is worthy of worship because of what He has done for us.
His message is simple, by surrendering to Jesus, (not a religion) confessing and repenting of our sin, accepting His sacrifice of shed blood on the cross, and trusting in Him alone for salvation, we become a Child of God and are given eternal life. We should then want to become more like Him and seek a life of holiness and obedience that is pleasing to Him. He is worthy of worship and we should long for others to know Him. He suffered and shed His blood on a cross to take on the sin of the world and the punishment we deserved. This great news is worthy of sharing with every person on earth, and is what God intends for

The Marion Township Board of Trustees has passed a resolution against an industrial shredder that could be coming to the nearby City of Howell.
The City Planning Commission granted site plan and special land use approval to Padnos Iron and Metal in November of 2019, but Padnos is now in court with the City following the Cityâs Board of Zoning Appeals denial of 3 variance requests. At the heart of it is a request to allow an industrial scrap metal shredder outdoors. Padnos is located at 645 Lucy Road, a site which is up against residential zoning in neighboring Marion Township.
