GEORGETOWN, Ky. (LEX 18) â Attorneys delivered opening statements on Tuesday in the trial against the man accused of raping a Georgetown College student in 2018.
Cody Alan Arnett, 35, is charged with rape in connection to an incident police said happened in September of 2018 inside an on-campus apartment.
Arnett entered an apartment through an unlocked door and raped a woman who lived there at knife-point, according to officers.

In 1913 at the age of 14 he joined the services. In 1914, when his true age became known, he was sent back home. At the grand old age of 18 he joined again in the Royal Flying Corps in Toronto. On Aug. 20, 1917 he was shipped to France as a member of the Royal Air Force to fight in the First World War. Between August 1917 and March 1918 his heroic deeds warranted him the highest honour in the service, The Victoria Cross. Due to the injuries he sustained he was sent back to Canada to recuperate. On Nov. 6, 1918, five months shy of his 20th birthday, he passed away from the Spanish influenza.
