Huntsville, Ala. – The fourth-ranked Florida State Seminoles (26-8) started their quest for the CCSA Championship with a 5-0 sweep over No. 6 LSU. The Seminoles will advance to the next round in the winner’s bracket tomorrow at 1:30 PM EST against No. 2 TCU.

The Seminoles remain undefeated against the Tigers this season, defeating LSU by the largest margin this year. Florida State became the only team to sweep the Tigers so far this season and improve the all-time series lead to 16-2.
Redshirt senior duo, Madison Fitzpatrick and Alaina Chacon earned the first match point for the Seminoles on court two. The pair made easy work of the Tigers, defeating them in two sets 21-19, 21-16.
Morgan Chacon and Jordan Polo kept the momentum going with another two-set win over LSU. On court four, the pair defeated the Tigers 21-14 in the first set. Chacon and Polo fought through extra points to seal the win 25-23.

Tallahassee, Fla. – For the third time this season, a Florida State pairing has earned CCSA Pair of the Week Honors. Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick were named CCSA Pair of the Week following a 5-0 weekend against four top-20 ranked teams. Chacon and Fitzpatrick became the 18th pair at Florida State to earn Conference Pair of the Week. The pair have been together for almost every dual this year with a team-leading 23-3 record. The pair went undefeated on the weekend at Unconquered Invitational. All five of their wins came on court two against TAMUCC, No. 5 LSU, No. 2 TCU, No. 15 FIU, and No. 19 Stetson. Chacon and Fitzpatrick started off the first day of the Unconquered Invitational with a 21-13, 21-18 win over Texas A&M Corpus Christi. In the next match against LSU, the pair earned their second match-clinching point against the Tigers this season. Visiting teams include No. 5 LSU, No. 2 TCU, Texas A&M Corpus Christi, No. 19 Stetson, and No. 15 FIU. This weekend will we also honor our alumni and seniors as it is the last competition at home this season.
The Seminoles’ first day will feature three teams that they have already faced this season. The first match will be against Texas A&M Corpus Christi at 11:00 AM. The Seminoles defeated TAMUCC 4-1 two weeks ago at the LSU Beach Invite and lead the all-time series 3-0.
The second half of the day will feature LSU and TCU, both of which are CCSA opponents and ranked in the top-5. The Noles will face LSU first at 2:00 PM. The teams also met at the LSU Beach Invite, resulting in an exciting 3-2 win for the Seminoles. FSU currently leads the all-time series 14-2 over the Tigers.

Deland, Fla. – The fourth-ranked Seminoles (9-2) finished the weekend 2-1 after defeating No. 18 Stetson 3–2 on a chilly Sunday morning. Raelyn White and Kate Privett went undefeated on the weekend on court five. The pair defeated Stetson quickly 21-16 in the first set before falling in the second set 21-19. The pair came back and won the third set 15-11. Jordan Polo and Caitlin Moon fought back on court four after an early deficit to win their match in three sets. The pair dropped the first set 21-18 before winning the next two 21-13, 15-13. The match-clinching point was provided by Alaina Chacon and Madison Fitzpatrick on court two. TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Redshirt sophomore Maddie Anderson was named the collegebeachvb.com Breakthrough Player of the Year on Thursday.
Anderson enters the 2022 season with a 44-7 career record. She went 32-6 last season and was named a Volleyball Magazine Second Team All-American with her partner, Alaina Chacon. Anderson’s 32 wins were the second-most on the team last year. She went 6-0 on court two, 25-4 on court three and 1-0 on court four.
Anderson was named to the CCSA All-Freshman team and was named a part of the CCSA Pair of the Tournament with Alaina Chacon after the pair went 4-0 on court two. She currently ranks second in program history with an 86.3 career winning percentage.
As a freshman in 2021, Anderson went 12-1 before the season was cut short due to COVID-19. She was 10-1 on court three and 2-0 on court two. In her time at FSU she has 27 wins over ranked opponents.
