Sharjah: A field hospital for COVID 19 patients who require intensive care is being set up in Sharjah, the Sharjah Police chief announced on Wednesday.
“We will be ready if required to receive infected cases that need intensive care in a field hospital in the emirate. The hospital will be constructed near Al Zahia area in cooperation with the Ministry of Health.” Major General Saif Al Ziri Al Shamsi, commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police and head of the local emergency crisis and disaster team in Sharjah, said.
The official, who did not rule out the possible return of the sterilisation programme, said the hospital will be ready in less than a month.

Sharjah will soon be going to inaugurate a field hospital in the “Special Tasks Camp” in Al Zahia area in Sharjah, which will cater exclusively to the COVID-19 patients.
This was announced by Major General Saif Al Zari Al Shamsi, Commander in Chief of Sharjah Police and Head of the Local Emergency and Crisis Team, during the Direct Line programme aired on Sharjah Radio & TV.
The move is aimed to receive cases infected with COVID-19 that need intense attention, whether inside or outside the emirate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health (MoH).

Majid Al Futtaim has confirmed that City Centre Al Zahia, a shopping mall in Sharjah, is on track to open to the public in March 2021. The mall was scheduled to open this year, but was delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
When it opens, City Centre Al Zahia will be the largest mall in the Northern Emirates, encompassing 136,200 square metres of retail and leisure space.
