Cancer centre to open in mid-July SHARE
MUSCAT: The Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Center is planning for a soft launch and will receive patients from the middle of July.
Built on a 54,000 sq metre area, the centre comprises of 300 rooms and three inpatient wards.
Dr Mansour bin Saif al Mantheri, head of the operating committee of the Sultan Qaboos Comprehensive Cancer Care and Research Center said we seek to position the centre as a leading and internationally recognized medical centre in the academic and research fields and the provision of integrated medical services to realize the vision of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik to set up a comprehensive centre with integrated medical staff and equipped with the most advanced medical technology with the aim of providing psychological relief for the patients and the most advanced methods of medical treatment.

MUSCAT: State Council Chairman Dr Yahya bin Mahfoudh al Mantheri received Issa Abdullah al Tamami, Governor of Lamu, Kenya, and his accompanying delegation at the Council premises.
The Chairman warmly welcomed the visitors, wished them a pleasant stay, and hoped the visit would accomplish the desired objectives.
He praised the good relations that link the Sultanate and Kenya, particularly political, cultural and economic.
He further said, “Oman has close historical and cultural linkages with Kenya. Such mutual visits contribute substantially to strengthen these relationships and expand the avenues of cooperation and benefit the common interests of people of these two friendly countries.”
