The National Centre for Meteorogly (NCM) said the fog formation, which started late on Monday, will continue till 11am on Tuesday. Authorities have warned motorists to drive carefully.
The Abu Dhabi Police announced activation of speed reduction system on major roads in the emirate. Maximum speed limit is 80kmph on roads including Trucks Road (Al Fayah), Abu Dhabi - Al Ain road (Al Wathbah - Al Khatim), Abu Dhabi - Al Ghwaifat road (Abu Al Abyad - Al Ghwaifat), Abu Dhabi - Sweihan road, Maktoum Bin Rashid road (Abu Dhabi Dubai) and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid road (Abu Dhabi - Dubai) until the visibility is restored.

In posts on social media, Abu Dhabi Police said drivers must follow the latest instructions on the electronic information boards.
Speed has been reduced to 80 kilometres per hour on the Mohammed bin Rashid and Maktoum bin Rashid road between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
It’s also been reduced on the Sheikh Khalifa International road between Al Mafraq and Al Ghwaifat, and on Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed between Yas and Saadiyat Islands, as well as on the Abu Dhabi Al Ain road.
