KARACHI: A boy was electrocuted in Karachi where the first spell of light monsoon rain wreaked havoc on civic and K-Electric’s system on Monday as people had to endure traffic jams because of flooded roads and streets and electricity outages for hours.
According to a Meteorological department advisory, Karachi and all lower Sindh districts are likely to receive rain/wind/thunderstorm with a few moderate-to-heavy falls till Friday and the central and upper parts of the province may have similar weather conditions till Saturday.

KARACHI: An unexpected spell of monsoon rain on early Monday morning in Karachi exposed the claims of the federal and provincial governments of addressing the drainage related issues of the megapolis as the light to moderate showers resulted in inundation of low-lying areas, accumulation of water on major roads and power cuts in many areas of the city, turning the worst fears of the city dwellers true.
Tragically, the accumulated water and unsafe electric poles also claimed the life of a young teenager in the Al-Falah Society area near Malir Halt.
