Ranchi: An AirAsia flight from Mumbai carrying the second consignment of 1.65 lakh Covishield vaccines landed at Birsa Munda International Airport in Ranchi around 11am on Wednesday morning. The consignment is meant for vaccinating healthcare workers of the state and central government as well as armed forces medical service personnel employed in Jharkhand.
Of the 1,65,570 vaccine doses received by the state; 1,54,650 are for healthcare workers, 9,620 for healthcare workers employed with central government facilities and 1,300 are for the personnel of armed forces medical services based in Jharkhand.
The second lot of vaccines, which were taken to the state National Health Mission Headquarters in Namkum in an insulated temperature-controlled van, was provided police escort before they were dispatched to other districts and storage centres across the state.

Ranchi, Jan 21 : The fear of coronavirus vaccination is palpable among health workers in Jharkhand as only 56 per cent of them have taken the shot since the nationwide vaccination drive started.
According to the health department, the vaccination started at 48 centres of the state and the target was to vaccinate 4,970 health workers in the last one week but so far only 2,790 of them have been vaccinated in the state.

RANCHI: The registration of frontline workers for free vaccination against Covid-19 has started in Jharkhand, the state department of health, medical education and family welfare said on Monday.
While the first phase of inoculation aims to cover 1.31 lakh health workers who voluntarily signed up for the jabs of Covishield vaccine, the second phase will target approximately 2.5 lakh frontline workers across 24 districts.
The frontline workers, who were at the forefront in the battle against the pandemic along with health workers, include police personnel, home guards, sanitation workers of civic bodies and ambulance and hearse drivers.
