Following the judgment, even 15 years after the blast, which resulted in the deaths of 80 people and injured 185 others, no person now stands convicted of the crime.
The Rajasthan High Court has acquitted all four convicts in the 2008 Jaipur serial blast case. The court approved the appeals of the convicts and referred the case of a minor to the Juvenile Board. The other accused were acquitted, while a fifth accused had been acquitted by a trial court in 2019. A total of 71 people were killed and around 176 injured in eight bomb blasts in different areas of Jaipur. The court also directed action against the investigating officer, and asked the Chief Secretary to conduct an inquiry by the investigating officers.
