  On March 7, Nike debuts a new film, titled “We Play Real,” narrated by Dominique Fishback, celebrating Black women and their resilience and fortitude to lead the world forward. Key athletes in the film include (in order of appearance): A’ja Wilson, Jewell Loyd, Serena Williams, Crystal Dunn, HoneyBeez, Sydney Leroux, Naomi Osaka, Caster Semenya, Natasha Cloud, Diamond DeShields, Shelly Bell (Black Girl Ventures), Seimone Augustus, English Gardner, Simone Manuel, Ibtihaj Muhammad, Sheryl Swoopes, and Sha’Carri Richardson. NBA athletes will use their Instagram handles to uplift and support Black women who are having outsized impact across sport, society and culture. These women will post their success stories — how their dream came to be, who inspired them, how they made it a reality, and ultimately ask the viewers to help realize their vision for the future.

Nineteen Athletes Set to Return to Court for Feb. 4-7 USA Basketball Women’s National Team Minicamp Date: A total of 19 athletes, including Olympic and/or FIBA World Cup gold medalists Sylvia Fowles (Minnesota Lynx), Kelsey Plum (Las Vegas Aces), Breanna Stewart (Seattle Storm) and A’ja Wilson (Las Vegas Aces) will participate in training alongside fellow USA National Team members Ariel Atkins (Washington Mystics), Kelsey Mitchell (Indiana Fever), Sydney Wiese (Los Angeles Sparks). Additionally, Kahleah Copper (Chicago Sky), who started all 22 games for the Sky in 2020 and averaged a team second-best 14.8 points and third-best 5.5 rebounds per game, has accepted an invitation to participate in the training camp in hopes of being named to the USA National Team pool in the future.
