The government on Wednesday formally sealed a Rs 48,000-crore deal the biggest Make In India defence contract with state-run aerospace giant Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) at the Aero India show in Bengaluru. The contract for 83 indigenous fighter jets LCA Tejas was signed in presence of defence minister Rajnath Singh who inaugurated the 13th edition of Asia s premier aeronautics and defence exhibition earlier this morning. It is probably the biggest Make in India defence contract till date, Mr Singh said at the three-day show, first of its kind to be held in the Covid era. It will focus on showcasing and augmenting India s indigenous defence sector capabilities from the lens of Atmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India

Bengaluru (Karnataka) [India], February 3 (ANI): The 13th edition of the Aero India international air show, organised by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will kickstart today at Air Force Station Yelahanka, Bengaluru.
During the event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will release the DRDO export compendium, a new Procedure for Design, Development and Production of Military Aircraft and Airborne Stores (DDPMAS) document and other documents.
As per a statement, the DRDO will exhibit its latest defence technologies and demonstrate many systems. One of the DRDO s major attractions will include flying displays of Airborne Early Warning and Control (AEW&C) system, Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and LCA Navy.

BENGALURU: The Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) will exhibit its latest defence technologies and demonstrate many systems during the Aero India-2021 at the Yelahanka Air Force Station in Bengaluru from February 3 to 5. Themed around Atmanirbhar Bharat, more than 300 products, technologies, innovations in the indoor, outdoor, static and flying display during the show will be displayed, the DRDO said in a statement.
