welcome back to first look. two storms on the maps. one in the pacific northwest with snow in the high elevations and a lot of rain on i-5 from seattle southward down through oregon. also heavy rain now just south of the atlanta area. that could cause some isolated flooding this morning on 75 and 16 and maybe even as we go throughout the afternoon hours. a little bit there in areas of western north carolina. as far as the rain it now extends far to the north. all the way up through pittsburgh. everyone on the east coast needs to have that umbrella handy during the day today. let s time it out for you, as we go through 1:00 p.m. this afternoon. the heavier rain shown in yellow from roanoke through central virginia and then the rain picks up in intensity over the philadelphia area. approaching new york city right around 1:00. about a half inch to an inch and a half for most areas. by the evening rush hour at 5:00 p.m. the rain is mostly confined at that point from new york city northwa

philippines. the pictures and just the death toll is absolutely incredible. it s what happens when you have the strongest typhoon in human recorded history moving into a last area. as far as the lower 48 goes, we are looking at very chilly air coming down from the north. we re talking the coldest air of the season. that wall of windchill at 18, negative 18 this morning. that s the cold air that s going to spread all the way across the country. if you haven t found the heavy winter coat and hat and gloves yet, make sure you have them. you ll need them over the next three days from the deep south through the east coast. even a little bit of snow with it this morning. minneapolis a little bit of snow showers. chicago will see snow. eventually some of that snow will go all the way to the east. we re not talking about blockbuster snow events. the thing we talked about friday is off the coast. no snowstorm this week for anywhere. we will be watching some of that cold air spilling into the ea

we re glad you are right here. let s start at the top of the hour with republican presidential candidate mitt romney. he s facing criticism and questions for being a mormon. this time it s coming from the pastor of a mega church in dallas. his name is reverend robert jeffress. you may recognize that name and face. jeffress introduced governor rick perry at the conservative values voter summit in washington, d.c. he was critical of the church of jesus christ of latter day saints and told our jim acosta and others that morm ononism is cult. you created a stir because in talking to reporters, you said in pretty strong plain language what you think of mormonism. you describe it as a cult. and you say that if a republican votes for mitt romney, they re giving credibility to a cult. to you stand fwby that comment? absolutely. that is the historic position of evangelical christianity. we have officially labelled mormonism as a couple. i think those born again followers of christ
