Four more Rafale jets arrive in India from France
Four more Rafale fighter jets have arrived in India on from France, the Indian Air Force said on Wednesday. After a direct ferry from Merignac Air Base, France, the 5th batch of Rafales arrived in India on 21 April. The fighters flew a distance of almost 8,000Kms with air-to-air refuelling support by @Armee de lair and UAE AF. IAF thanks both the Air Forces for their co-operation, the IAF said in a tweet.Â
Earlier, Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria flagged off four Rafale fighter jets for India from a military airbase in France, people familiar with the development said.
Both the air forces have been carrying out exercise series Garuda .
New Delhi: Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria on Tuesday held talks with Gen Philippe Lavigne, Chief of Staff of French Air and Space Force (FASF), on ways to further expand cooperation between the two sides.
Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria is on a five-day visit to France from Monday. The Indian Air Force said Gen Lavigne and Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria in their talks noted the steady growth of operational exchanges between the two forces and explored ways to expand the cooperation further. Air Chief Mshl RKS Bhadauria visited @Armee de lair HQs & called on Gen Philippe Lavigne to discuss op issues common to the two Air Forces. The Chiefs noted the steady growth of operational exchanges & explored avenues to expand IAF- FASF ties, the IAF tweeted.

Last week, sources had said there is a possibility of Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria flagging-off a batch of five to six Rafale jets from the Merignac airbase in the French port city of Bordeaux for India.
