giuliani. consider just some of the testimony against him from trump s top allies and loyalists. in this hearing he was described under oath at inebriated, buffoonish, erratic, and and now we re seeing giuliani speaking out. he s denying he was intoxicated on election night, joining forces to push back. it was the same cast of characters bennie thompson and shifty schiff. the completely hysterical liz cheney who s gone off her deep end. that s knew. he s referencing vice chair cheney by the name of her sister. and basically bannon is awaiting
about stepien and jason miller that were not particularly flattering, and one of which is kind of pornographic. is that all? i m not too surprised that rudy giuliani at this point is continuing to promote false claims about the election or pushed back on what we saw at the hearing yesterday. what those interactions did show us, though, is not like there s been any lack of evidence of this, but it s further confirmation that on that night, the president did not have a sufficient evidence that there was actually any sort of fraudulence with the election but rather people close to him were saying the exact opposite, but he chose to go with somebody like rudy giuliani who is telling him basically what he wanted to hear. and liz cheney s words might have been inebriated. there was the story told yesterday that, you know, we had to figure out what to do. he was going to go up and see the president of the united
inebriated at that point but who is recommending to go out and declare he actually won the election. so that s an absurd situation and one that is reflective of, generally, the path that donald trump was on. he was recycling the most absurd claims in order to tell the big lie, keep raising money, and then leading all the way up to the disaster that took place on january 6th. congressman raskin, appreciate your time as always. thank you. is. you bet. and i want to go to gloria now our chief political analyst. when you hear congressman raskin, i thought that was important how he addressed the giuliani point there, but talking about today and, you know, where do you think we are? obviously, we re just tuned in here, got another week and a half of hearings, but where are we? well i think what we saw
testimony today is so significant. these aren t dems or something saying this. this is trump s inner circle and people who trump appointed to high positions at the justice department all saying that that is poppycock in short of donald trump standing up and finding evidence that he said i never believed i won or something like that. this testimony is about as good as it gets. i don t think any jury would agree that donald trump could have plausibly ignored the entire justice department as well as all of his advisers and accepted in good faith by contrast the testimony the words of an inebriated rudy giuliani. and trump didn t have a genuine belief he won and defended against all challenges what today s testimony showed is he brute rumor after rumor to the officials of the justice department in the hopes that one of them would stick and if a jury managed to conclude this he genuinely believed all of them the second that he heard these kind of poppycock stories it
lie. he knew the truth, and he can t use his lack of knowledge as a defense this case. the jury, if there were a criminal case, would be instructed that willful ignorance of the facts is not a defense, and especially when the only person or persons who whether giving him the information that it was okay that he hnlt lost was an inebriated rudy giuliani and kraken lawyer sidney powell whereas everybody else from his campaign, his attorney general, all of those surrounding women who had a reason to be vision him, who were actual employees, all said you lost and there is no fraud. so it s not a defense, and that s very important what they did today you know, kurt, you know, listen, donald trump was not listened to the people who whether were tip lipping on the ripple allegedly because he no choice and he was desperate. he was doing this because he
