Bard, the company’s artificial intelligence (AI) powered chatbot, is designed to help users brainstorm and fetch information from the internet in a customised fashion
The Indian internet security agency CERT-In has issued a warning against FraudGPT, an AI-powered chatbot that is being used by fraudsters to create phishing emails, false websites and text messages. The chatbot simulates human-like conversations to deceive users into clicking on malicious links, downloading infected attachments, exposing them to malware infections and disclosing potentially sensitive information. CERT-In recommended users be cautious with unknown links and attachments, verify the authenticity of communications, keep security software updated, and keep their devices updated.
FraudGPT has the ability to produce highly authentic-looking phishing emails, text messages, and websites. This makes it difficult for users to discern genuine communications from fraudulent ones, leading to the inadvertent disclosure of sensitive information such as login credentials, financial details, or personal data.
Uber’s competitors like DoorDash and Instacart Inc are also building their own chatbots. The company said that gross bookings grew 16 per cent year-over-year to $33.6 billion in Q2.
