Calls were received in Rīga and elsewhere. In Ikšķile, parents and a small child had all fallen through the ice. Luckily, other people were nearby and helped the family out of the river. At 14:07, the State Fire and Rescue Service (VUGD) received a call in Ikšķile, where people had fallen into the Daugava. When they arrived at the scene, VUGD was not needed because other people had helped and lifted people out of the water.

VILNIUS/RIGA – An oil leak has been reported on Monday at Lithuania s Butinge Terminal owned by Polish-capital oil import and processing company Orlen Lietuva (Orlen Lithania). The fact has been confirmed to BNS by the commander of Lithuania s Maritime Rescue Coordination Center.

RIGA - Firefighters are still working on the fire which broke out at Depo DIY store in Rezekne on Saturday, State Fire and Rescue Service representative Agrita Vitola told LETA.
The fire was localized on Saturday, but the firefighters are still working to extinguish it completely because the area of the store is large. There are 15-20 firefighters working on the site.
In order to prevent a chemical spill into the Rezekne River, rescuers have set-up absorbing booms.
