India s agriculture exports decreased by 8.8% to USD 43.7 billion in 2023-24 due to the Red Sea crisis, Russia-Ukraine war, and domestic restrictions. Basmati rice exports saw a 22% growth.
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) organised the “Agri-Export: Capacity Building cum Buyer-Seller Meet” to unlock the export potential of agricultural and processed food products from eastern Uttar Pradesh in Mirzapur on Thursday.
India’s focus should be on export of large-scale food processing rather than exporting only raw materials.
